A dear friend's daughter has a birthday coming up. She will be turning 3 and she loves Disney's movie "Tangled". Her mom decided to throw her a party with that theme. She asked me to create the banner with her daughter's name on it. There will also be a full-size piñata in the figure of Rapunzel, which I helped pick out. Check out what I did...
I used premium 12 x 12 card-stock for the purple and yellow parts of the banner. The triangles were cut out by hand. The letters were cut out of black glitter foam sheets. Basically, I chose a font I liked, increased the size to fit 2 letters per sheet, and hit print. These became my font template. All items were cut by hand. I even meticulously cut out the sunburst design using scissors from a template I printed out online. I connected the banner together using gold-tone brads. I created a cute relevant design in the circle portion of the banner showing Rapunzel and added the number "3" to indicate the birthday girl's age. After I printed it out, I added glitter to the 3 to make it sparkle.
The piñata was a cute idea my friend came up with. I helped her find this one after seeing many options. We liked this one the best since her hair was to the side and her eyes were green. My friend added the flowers to the hair after following a tutorial I showed her for creating tissue-paper flowers. She shared this photo with me when she was done. The piñata stick came with it and it is decoratively wrapped in alternating yellow and purple ribbon. The candy bags are small square purple translucent bags which were plain. I went ahead and created matching labels to stick to them.
After this project, I have decided to add party decor to my list of projects, in addition to my handmade cards. If you're interested in a design, please drop me a line.
As always, I value your feedback.

Dad's Birthday...
My dad's birthday isn't until August 9th but I gave him this card this past weekend. I couldn't resist. I thought I'd seize the opportunity since a family day was already planned at my place. It was a small celebration with cupcakes and a small but meaningful gift from me. Of course, I do plan to see him on his actual birthday. Who doesn't love celebrating birthdays more than once a year?

Girl's 5th Birthday...
I was invited to attend yet another birthday celebration recently. It was for one of my dearest friend's daughter's who was turning 5. It wasn't an official "party" since since she specified to her mom that she just wanted to play with her close friends that day. The ages ranged from 2 years old to about 5. It was a day of fun for the little tykes. The wonderful California weather was the perfect setting for all their water playing! There were several wading pools, a slip-n-slide, a water-balloon filler-upper, and a crazy water sprayer that was attached to the garden hose. I don't have any kids yet but I am close friends with all the moms who came. We were friends since before kids were in the picture! It was a great summer day.
Even though it wasn't a true party per say, I still brought a gift of-course! And with gifts come cards! I designed a cute card for the cute little girl using some of my decorative papers and coordinated it with the wrapping paper design. Actually, some of the paper used in the card was the actual wrapping paper! The gift I got her was a cute mani-pedi set because she is a girly-girl :) It was from the kid's section of-course but it had all the necessary items you would need, like stickers, polish and even flip flops!

Twin Girls' 2nd Birthday...
I recently had the pleasure of attending a dear friend's twin daughters' 2nd birthday party. It had an Elmo theme. The girl's names are Chloe & Leila. I wanted to create a simple card for each of them to add to their gift. The colors are bright like the party theme and I thought it would be fun to coordinate them with each other using an inverted color scheme. I used premium card-stock with rich colors, contact paper for the initial, and washi tape for the stamped birthday greeting. I added some blingy glitter for that extra sparkle. I was asked to help create the decorative details for the treat table. They consist of the decorative circle designs, cupcake toppers, food labels (not shown), and treat labels (not shown).
